Finance Officer at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI) in Lund

Are you a structured economist looking for a broad role in an international environment? RWI is now seeking reinforcement for the finance department in Lund.  

As a Finance Officer, you will have a particular focus on supporting colleagues working with the Ukraine programs. You will report to the CFO and be part of a team where collaboration, helpfulness, and flexibility are key principles. Even though each team member has specific tasks, this approach is crucial.

You will be employed by RWI, and the position is a fixed-term contract for one year with the possibility of extension. 

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities as a Finance Officer include:

  • Supporting relevant staff and partners with program budgeting, monitoring, and financial reporting
  • Assisting with the purchase and procurement of goods and services as needed
  • Recording expenses in RWI and relevant financial systems
  • Archiving and maintaining documentation for expenses, managing invoices and reimbursements, and following up on payments related to office costs and program activities
  • Assisting with internal and external audits
  • Providing financial documentation and analyses to support strategic decisions and compliance.

As part of RWI's finance department, you are expected to selflessly cover for colleagues when needed and contribute to a learning organization.

Qualifications

To be considered for the role, we require that you have:

  • A degree in finance or accounting (at least vocational education).
  • Experience in relevant financial and administrative work.
  • Good experience working with financial systems.
  • Fluent English in both spoken and written form.
  • Ability to communicate in Swedish.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of budget management and governance principles.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience working in international organizations and/or development cooperation.
  • Ability to communicate in Ukrainian or Russian.
  • System experience with Macanomy and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using AI tools.

About the Company

Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights

Our dynamic headquarters has around 35 staff members working with human rights research, policy, education, and direct engagement. The office provides researchers, staff, and students with a conducive study and work environment.
